History

The Firm was founded in 1967. The first assignment handled by Secretan Troyanov was in relation to the liquidation of a major mutual fund which had been widely distributed to international investors and American expatriates. The firm's proactive and dynamic approach made it possible to maximize the liquidation value for the investors and creditors.

Many American-based banks and brokers thereafter became longstanding clients, followed by European banks and financial companies.

During the nineties, Russian clients and western investors led Secretan Troyanov to expand with the opening of an office in Moscow. Today however Russian clients have beome more sofisticated prefer to be served out of Switzerland.

Despite a restrictive policy in terms of participation in board memberships, some partners have served on board of directors of banks, financial institutions and commercial companies.

After the retirement of the founding partners, in 1999 and 2000, the firm continued its development, now in close cooperation with Des Gouttes & Associés, the oldest Swiss law firm established already in 1834.

To capitalize on its longstanding reputation in Switzerland, and abroad, Secretan Troyanov was registered as an international trademark for a legal services, mainly known for its expertise in international business and banking law issues.

Secretan Troyanov LLP was established in Singapore in 2010 under the responsibility of Eric Fiechter, while Eva Stormann has taken the responsibility of the Geneva office.
